Brett's Back

For the first time in my life I can honesty admit that I believe Brett Favre wanted to retire. We all know that as the body ages it takes longer to recover after competing at such a high level. After the pounding he took in the NFC Championship, not too many people should be able to question the pain he was in. And after having his best season statistically in years he finally could leave the game with his head held high and with his critics (myself included) silenced. But what does Favre do, he decides to come back for one more year.

Favre says he owes the Vikings to at least give it one more try, but what does he owe the people that are sick and tired of having to go through this every year? What about the people that feel like he should just retire and live on his ranch or farm or whatever? Look before you tell me to stop hating on Favre, lets be clear. I'm not a Favre hater. He is one of the best QB's ever. And if you feel that he is No. 1, I can see why, I disagree 100% but we all have our own opinions.

So what happens this year if the Vikings stink? What if Favre stinks? Does Favre come back for one more year in order to leave on a good note? What is Tarvaris Jackson thinking? That's who I really feel bad for. This guy lead the Vikings to the playoffs in 2008 and is still young and raw, so they should start to focus on him and not force a guy that doesn't want to play anymore to throw a helmet on.

Again Favre is a great QB but he cannot play forever. Eventually they will have to hand the keys over to another QB. Why not do it sooner rather than later so that you can find the "right guy" before you're key offensive players get old, and your defense falls off.

Handled it right

As I was riding in my car today I happen to hear about a fan wearing a Donovan McNabb jersey at Eagles training camp. Then they went on to say it was a Washington Redskins jersey. I immediately said to myself "thus guy must be against the Eagles for the decision they made." So I kind of "got it" and did not have a problem with it. So naturlally when I heard that a security guard allegedly told him (Jim Devlin) that coach Andy Reid wanted the jersey removed, I took the fans side.

However after reading Philly.com's story about the incident I quickly changed my opinion. This guy said "I wasn't trying to make a statement, I was just trying to get a reaction out of the fans" I said this is what the national media doesn't understand about Philadelphia fans. Because of a few incidents in the past (which I must add almost every die hard city has their own cases), Philly fans are constantly being tested and under the microscope.

What did this guy really want to happen? Oh I must add that he claims to be an Eagles fan. That may very well be true but if he is a true fan why would he try to give the media more to talk about? Was is mainly cause he wanted his 15 minutes? But why would he want to recieve that if it meant his "brotherhood" would be scrutinized?

The incident is byond puzzling to me. I'm just glad that an Eagles fan didn't throw something at him or shout stuff. Shoot the last thing Philadelphia needs is another "J.D. Drew incident" or worse. For once they handled it with class, but I highly doubt they will recieve any credit etc.

Oh well I guess it doesn't pay to be the nice guy because the only time they get attention is when it's for the wrong reasons.

Snoop is right!

So I stumbled upon this video that contained Snoop Dog delivering a message to Money Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. Well actually it was mostly directed towards Pacman. Long story short and in a MUCH more pg fashion, Snoop told Pacman stop being "scared" and take the text. No other match matters to boxing fans. So don't insult us with another round of fights versus opponents that have no business being in the ring with these two legends.

My money is on Mayweather. It always will be with my guy Floyd. I will never bet against that man, and why should I? Have you ever witness him in defeat? The answer is a big fat whopping NO! So explain to me why I should start now if this fight ever happens (as each day goes by and ESPN does start the show off with breaking news about the fight I start to get more and more uneasy about the chances)?

Oh that's right Floyd hasn't fought anyone yet. Wait wait weren't people screaming that before his last fight? Come on be a man and admit it. A lot of people were worried about Money before the Mosley fight...not me! To be keep it completely 100 with you guys, I wasn't worried when he almost buckled in the fight. I was more in shock than anything else. Everyone in the house was screaming "oh bleep...your boy is about to get knocked out!" Ha joke was defiantly on you! And it will be again when/if he fights Pacman.

I hope they both watch Snoops video and follow his advice. Manny take the damn blood test. If you have nothing to hide just do it. I am tired of hearing how Manny will do this and that to Money. Yo either take the drug test and fight or don't take it and say the fight will never happen.

Floyd when dude takes the test please do not find another reason why you guys cannot fight. This is the only fight that intrigues people. In fact this is boxing last chance to keep me entertained. Because once these two legends retire and if they choose not to fight, boxing will be have one less fan.
