Dear LeBron James

Dear LeBron James,

I am a huge fan. I enjoy watching your team play all the time. The commercials are great, and I must admit I think this is your year to chip up. However I have to be honest with you, not competing in the Slam Dunk contest this year was a huge mistake. Why would you bring it up during last years All-Star weekend if you were just going to back out this year? Are you that scared of failure? I mean lets be real Bron Bron do you honestly think any of those guys in the competition can beat you? NO!

I am getting sick and tired of watching Nate Robinson win. Truth be told he robbed Andre Iguodala to win his first dunk contest, and I was not to impressed when he beat Dwight Howard last year. But honestly Bron you had a real chance to make yourself more likable. All you had to do is enter the contest. You would have won before your first dunk. But no you want to tell people that you will allow those players that do not play as many minutes as you do to compete in the contest. Yeah I feel you on that somewhat but ALL the great players have competed. Jordan, Kobe, Dominique Wilkins, Dr. J etc. What makes you so different? Why do you feel like you are too good for it?

Damn Bron you messed up big time. The slam dunk contest was once an exciting event that was filled with high flying dunks that made you say WHOA! But now it's becoming a joke, something that I honestly may not watch next year unless those competing are worthy of my time. You had a chance to be the savior of the event, just like Vince Carter did when he entered and did some of the best dunks I have ever seen with my own two eyes. Wow man grow up Bron and realize the power you have. All you have to do is compete ONE time and make your mark on that weekend!

Sincerely,

John Jervay

  1. He bron is too cocky right now, the greats should have called him and told him to do it.. But this isnt bron's year to win a chip, Kobe gets a 5th as long as everyone stays healthy

  2. All the great players competed when it was still fairly new and exciting. LeBron has nothing to prove in even engaging in a dunk contest. Every game he plays is a "dunk contest", at least one. One of 2 most popular NBA players on the planet and #2 in jersey sales behing Bean Bryant. The world loves him. It's not worth his time, he's already a savior of the game, he'll be more likeable when he gets a championship. Dunk Contest lost it's luster since Vince. Creativity is gone and how much more creative can you be? Wise move to never be in the contest because if does nothing for his legacy....
