What I'm hype for this weekend!

So my Birds have a bye this week. I am not too happy about that...shoot to be honest with you guys, if the "bul" 5 wasn't injured I'd want the bye to come a little later in the season. So since Philly isn't playing I have decided to look at some of the key college matchups this weekend.

FYI I am a big time Gators fan (can you say DYNASTY...I can) and they are also on a bye this week (THANK GOD...it gives Superman a week to rest before we slap the Tigers) however there are a few games that I will watch.

First game is The LSU Tigers vs. The Georgia Bulldogs. This game has a chance to be either real good, meaning down to the wire OR it will be a blowout. If I had to choose one or the other I would say that it will be a close game. LSU is clearly the better team however they are on the road and they may get caught "looking ahead" to their big matchup against Florida next weekend. Nevertheless I think that LSU will win the game and make next weeks battle of two undefeated teams a good one.

The other game I am excited to see is Oklahoma vs. Miami. Will The Sooners have their star QB back? Or will Miami prove they are back? I am leaning toward Miami because honestly college football needs Miami to return to its elite status. So I think Miami will bounce back and knock off Oklahoma.

NFL TIME!

How does Eric Mangini still have a job? Please someone answer that question for me. He stinks. I honestly think he is on the level of Rich Kotite...a guy that had a solid two yeara in the NFL but has not done ANYTHING since. "Magenius" led the Jets to a 10-6 record and a playoff birth in his first season with the team. But since then well lets just say he has not impressed me with his 13-22 record (including his excellent 0-3 record this year). So I ask the question again...HOW DOES HE STILL HAVE A JOB? I mean the Browns look terrible and I am going on the record as saying they will NOT win 3 games this year. Shoot they will be lucky to win 2.

Cleveland fans get ready to create your own website just like Jets fans did when it was time for him to go!

WEEK 4 Picks

Ok so if you are a betting man like myself, here are a few games that you may want to put some "popcorn" on this weekend.

New England is -2 vs. Baltimore
I like New England to cover. I told you last week that the Patriots are back and they did not let me down. Look for this game to be a high scoring affair and for the Pats to cover the spread.

Cincinnati is -6.5 vs. Cleveland
I LOVE Cincy in this game...After ripping Eric Mangini a new one (pause) I have to continue by taking Cincy. Until he gets out of town, The Browns are playing with a disadvantage.

Minnesota is -4 vs. Green Bay
Since I am not a fan of Brett Favre, I am going with Green Bay on this one. But I am not taking this game JUST because I not a fan of Brett Favre (RETIRE PLEASE) I am taking it because everyone is talking about how Favre wants to stick it to Green Bay, but has anyone thought about how their NEW QB may want to show everyone that he is ready to be the new guy in town...So I am not sure if Green Bay will win but I like them getting 4 points.

Thanks guys for coming back to the blog...I think I am getting better, and I hope you guys aren't leaving saying "Jerv is Drawn!"

Check back on Thursday and see who I think will have a big week in Fantasy Football.

Just retire!

After further review I have come to the conclusion that Stephon Marbury may be crazy. Look I understand what happen to him in New York and all that the Knicks did to him, but that does not explain why he is becoming this years YouTube sensation. I mean I thought Shaun Andrews singing "get my Michael Phelps on" was a little looney tunes but Marbury's latest clip takes the cake.

In my opinion Steph is done. Stick a fork in him.

Please "Starchild" if by some chance you read this, get some help...you got paid over 20M to go away...so just do that, go away and get some help! Yes at one point in time you were one of the NBA's best/most exciting players to watch. However those days are LONG GONE!

I mean I could be wrong but I highly doubt any NBA teams are knocking down your door begging for you to sign with them...Shoot as a fan of the game I do not want to see you play. All I want is for you to get help and fade to black...

Trust me Steph it's in your best interest to STOP, you are making a fool of yourself...We are not laughing with you, we are laughing at you (some aren't laughing, just shaking their heads)

But then again this is just my opinion.

It's only right!

Yeah yeah yeah...The Eagles won. Kevin Kolb threw for over 300 yards again and multiple touchdowns...but honestly SO WHAT! Now I will admit I was somewhat pleased with how Kolb played, however I am still not sold on the kid. But what really pissed me off during the game was Big Red. Somebody PLEASE explain to me why with the game clearly in hand Andy did not turn the keys to the offense over to Michael Vick! I mean come on Red! If you plan to use Vick EVER or shoot possibly trade him during or after the season why not put him out there as the quarterback during the 4th quarter when everybody including Stevie Wonder could see that the game was over. Why not allow Vick to get out there and get his confidence back and allow him to take advantage of the SORRY Kansas City Chiefs defense. Andy you honestly fumbled the ball on this one. You missed out on the perfect chance to use Vick without having reporters speculating about a possible QB controversy when 5 comes back.

Now if you are paying attention to my picks, I am 2-1 so far on the season. I told you guys that the Eagles would KILL the Chiefs and they did. I tried to inform you that the Patriots would take advantage of the Falcons and they did. And if it was not for a Brett Favre miracle last second TD pass to Greg Lewis (of all people) I would have went 3-0. But no excuses from yours truly. 2-1 is not a bad way to start off the season.

Ready for football!

I don't know about you guys but I am ready for Week 3. As an Eagles fan I am excited to see Vick (yes NOT KEVIN KOLB) lead the Birds to an impressive win over the sorry Chiefs. I am fully confident that Vick will hold it down till McNabb comes back to lead the Birds to Victory! I am also interested to see how Big Red (Andy Reid) uses Vick. I am really hoping its more under the center and mainly in the wildcat formation. Look for Mike Vick to be apart of 3 scoring drives and for him to take advantage of the Chiefs. Although I have been accused as being a homer (blinded by my love for my teams) I did predict that the Eagles would be 2-1 going into the bye. So with that being said I do not see anyway possible that the Birds lose to the Chiefs. FINAL SCORE 31-13.

Other games that I am hype for

  • Falcons @ Pats - Tom Brady and Randy Moss are going to DESTROY Atlanta. The Falcons have no chance of defeating the Pats...shoot they don't have any chance of stopping Brady and Moss from hooking up for AT LEAST 2 touchdowns. FINAL SCORE 38-17 Pats.
  • Niners @ Vikings - Are the 49ers the real deal? I think so...Frank Gore looks like he is a man on a mission (however I wish he would have done that last season since I drafted him with my first pick in my fantasy league). Gore will have a tough time going against the Vikings however I think the 49ers are the real thing so I wouldn't be shocked if they win the game...Oh yeah also I am not a fan of Brett Favre so I will most likely go against him more times then not! FINAL SCORE 17-14 49ers.
This was my first time EVER blogging so bare with me guys and gals...I will get better and will always have something to say.
