Come on

So I cannot be the only person on the face of this earth that feels like Mark McGwire's "apology" for using steroids was not sincere. I cannot be the only person that was able to look beyond the tears and realize it was an act. I mean I know many people have tried it since Mark and Sammy Sosa took HGH, but I'm not the only person that realizes he was the "set it person." If he never did it, Bonds and the gang would have not felt the pressure to keep up!

When I watched his interview with Bob Costa I thought to myself and said, "Are you serious...CHILD PLEASE!" This dude is only doing this because he does not want to be viewed as a cheater. Sorry Mark YOU ARE! You are a fraud and a large part of your success was do to your steroid use. You had the audacity to say " I was given a gift to hit home runs," and that you didn't need performance-enhancing drugs to hit the long ball. KEEP IT REAL!

Does he think that we are stupid? I hope not. Yes you pulled a fast one on us back in '98, but it is now 2010! No more Mr. and Mrs. Gullible! You had a chance to come clean in front of Congress, but you didn't. You had a chance to come clean numerous amounts of times. But you waited till you were back in the game to admit it. WHATEVER.

Just go sit down somewhere Mark and live your life, let those that are clean (if there are actually any clean players left) fix what you help destroy!

  1. Im going to disagree here, how many people took PED's? We will never know but a majority of the baseball players in that era were using. But only a few stand out as great players; the ones that hit 60-70 homeruns a year. And he hit 49 homeruns his rookie year and led the ncaa in homeruns coming out. He had the ability to do it he just had to stay healthy...

  2. I feel everything you're saying in this one! I was happy to hear that Andre Dawson was back in the light, for getting the nod this year to enter the Hall; how brief was that moment? All focus back on McGwire. He knew exactly what he was doing, with deciding to come out with what he already knew, now! He's in the 2010 balloting with the likes of Andres Galarraga, Don Mattingly, Lee Smith, Roberto Alomar, "Crime Dog" Fred McGriff, and a list of other great names..and he receives close to 24% of the vote, with three first time candidates receiving higher! He has to know his legacy is looking like old brass right now! Why not suddenly feel the need the 'come clean' right after this years ballots, and hope that in the next 365 days, we (the fans), and the BBWAA will forgive his actions, and give him the pity votes! NO! Pete Rose better be inducted before McGwire. For sports sake, he did something that every athlete in their own right, as well as fan, has done in some form; he bet. Here now, we have a man who finally admits to using steroids and HGH only after he lied to the world, in front of Congress. Before his petals fall off, let Rose get that call in which he deserves, and let's shun McGwire out!

  3. I think McGwire's decision to admit using steroids was prompted by his decision to become hitting coach of the St. Louis Cardinals. According to McGwire, he took steroids for health reasons rather than to improve performance
